Educator
Ben Kiel is a typeface designer, graphic designer, and educator. He runs Typefounding, a typeface design and production studio in Saint Louis, Missouri. Before starting Typefounding, he worked at House Industries where he worked as a typeface designer, director, and developer. At House, he worked as part of the team that developed the online Photo-Lettering service, shortlisted as a Design of the Year by the London Design Museum in 2012.

Photo-Lettering’s Goliath is based on Vincent Pacella’s original design. Working from the original film, the design was adapted and expanded as a digital font to support a full range of European languages — including the drawing of some fun ligatures (Thorn J anyone?). Adam Cruz helped finish the design.
